About the University:
California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) opened in 2002 as the newest campus in the California State University system. About the Program:
The Master of Arts in Education, designed for educational professionals and leaders, provides advanced preparation in the study of research issues confronting educators and schooling systems. There are two emphases- Curriculum and Instruction and Disability Studies- created for specific populations of professionals seeking to apply their graduate learning towards their career goals.
About the Position:
Thesis supervisors assist candidates with and oversee the development of all stages the thesis from research questions and methodological design through final approvals and publication.
Minimum Degree Requirements:
Faculty committing to be thesis advisors must hold a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education, an Education related field, or a content area that is related to the thesis topic.
Required Qualifications :
• Ph. D. or Ed.D in Education, an Education related field
• Experience with research and research publication
• Experience advising students in higher education settings
• Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in education or a related field.
- Evidence of recent and relevant effective university teaching.
- Experience teaching online.
Thesis supervisors assist candidates with and oversee the development of all stages the thesis from research questions and methodological design through final approvals and publication. Thesis supervisors are expected to be in communication with the program chair, and be responsive to communications from the chair and the candidate.
Screening of applications will begin April 14 th . Priority will be given to applicants who meet the screening deadline; however, the position will remain open until filled.

- A statement describing your experience mentoring and/or working with minoritized students with a special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander and American Indian students, and
- A teaching philosophy describing how you plan to engage and interact with students, with a special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander, and American Indian students.
