This position supports the Child and Teen Checkup (C&TC) program staff in the Child and Adolescent Health (CAH) Unit. Under general supervision, this position assists Child Health Consultants and the Health Educator 3 with communicating health educational information on children from infancy through adolescence for local public health professionals, and health care providers. Performs related work as required.
- Assists with the planning, design, implementation and evaluation for the child and teen check-ups (C&TC) education materials so that accurate health information is communicated to health care providers, local public health professionals, and the public
- Assist with development and editing of educational materials for C&TC screening components
- Assist Health Educator 3 with C&TC website
- Assist with editing of C&TC training materials that C&TC Consultants and Health Educator have developed
This position requires 2 or more years of technical/administrative experience in the following areas:
- Drafting presentations and materials for local health care providers and local public health
- Designing, writing, and editing of training or educational materials
- Website development and maintenance sufficient for routine web communication
- Written and oral communication with public health partners
A bachelor's degree in Health Education or Communications may substitute for 1 year of experience in the above
A bachelor's degree in Health Education and/or other Communication
Working knowledge of the C&TC (Child & Teen Checkups) Program
Knowledgeable about public health practice and core governmental public health functions
Ability to identify opportunities for improvement of public health services delivery related to health education
Conflict management, negotiation, meeting facilitation, and team process skills
